Down the steep, cobbled street from here is
Rowena Maybourn's home/studio. On this chill foggy morning the day after Christmas, to our surprise her shop door was open. My daughter had been in before, and wanted me to see her work.
Austerity, possibility, romance, fortification.
Such were the impressions that passed over me during the fifteen minutes I spent talking with this woman, during which I was trying hard to absorb every word she said. A very engaging woman indeed. A queen in her castle.
Her work speaks for itself so let it speak:

Note the British and French flags on the top banner that go to English or French text.
The artist said that she is planning to make available rooms in her studio/home as a women's artist retreat.
Cordes-Sur-Ciel, is in southern France in the Tarn. Cordes (Occitan: Còrdas).Cordes is thought to come from Indo-European root "corte" meaning "rocky heights."

Would love to see her habitat and her art one day.
